Gemini Club, the Chicago rock band that graced the stage last year at Lollapalooza, returns today with a new song, "Fret and Regret."
We heard it for the first time back in November, at Red Bull Sound Select: 30 Days in LA, when frontman Tom Gavin and company played it. It was one of the highlights of their set, so it's great to hear the studio version.
About the song, Gavin says, "'Fret and Regret' begins with, 'If the end of your life was looking you in the eye, would you fret and regret every wasted hour?' This is directed to all of us, and some would feel content considering the gravity of such a tough question, and others not so much."
"Musically," he continues, "the song takes you through a lot of motifs found in our past work, with big guitar choruses and a heavy electro breakdown, but still holds onto our main concern: melody."
Gemini Club's "Fret and Regret" is released as part of Red Bull's "Listen Up!" platform, which has recently premiered a new song by fellow Sound Select band Baby Baby, and a new Steve Aoki remix of AWOLNATION.
