First Motocross Mid-Air Bike Flip Caught on Video

Thomas Pagès completes a monumental freestyle motocross trick, flipping his bike in mid-air.

It wasn't that long ago that the no-hander was the pinnacle of FMX progression, and had onlookers "oohing" and "ahhing" by the dozens. As the sport gained popularity, the progression of tricks has picked up steam exponentially, and here we are today, where backflips without massive tricks incorporated into them are considered stale.
At the forefront of FMX innovation is Thomas Pagès, and today he dropped yet another banger on the world (watch it in the video above). The bike flip has been an idea since Travis Pastrana and his cousin Special Greg started trying them in his foam pit in the early days of the Nitro Circus, but no one has ever documented putting the trick down to dirt -- until now.
As you can see, Thomas did the trick into a nice, forgiving pile of mulch, but now it's possible and everyone knows it. Will it happen in competition? Stay tuned for the upcoming Red Bull X-Fighters events this year...
