Starting at Zug, the teams of eight must row across Lake Zug, before picking up their 100 pound boats and carrying them over land to the shores of Lake Lucerne, where it's back on the water for the final leg of the course.
With 19km of rowing and 7km of testing cross-country running to get through, XRow attracts top teams from around the world. The standard was incredibly high in 2013, needing a super-human effort from home favourites 'Swiss Selection', which included World Champion rower Simon Niepmann, to take the win in a time of 2:09:30.
