Red Bull Training Grounds is in the home of Disney World, but we’ve got no Mickey Mouse contestants here. Instead, the roster of eight progamers competing in this weekend’s StarCraft II scrimmage and tournament in Orlando, FL. consists of some of the top players from all over the world. We've got some up-and-comers and long-time StarCraft legends with the livestream being casted by Sean “Day[9]” Plott, Marcus “ djWHEAT” Graham and Ben “Mr. Bitter” Nichol.
HuK
Chris "HuK" Loranger, who holds dual citizenship in both the United
States and Canada, currently plays Protoss for Evil Geniuses. The
24-year old has claimed championships in MLG, HomeStory Cup,
DreamHack – you name it. Currently ranked 52nd in the WCS World
Rankings, Huk travels to Orlando to try to add another title to his
name.
Illusion
Chris "Illusion" Lee is a up-and-coming Terran player. Currently teamless after a recent stint with team mousesports, Illusion played in in the group stage of last year's Red Bull Battlegrounds, finishing the tournament in 9th-12th position. Will an extra year pay dividends for him?
NesTea
He might seem ancient in pro-StarCraft II years at 30, but the
legendary Zerg player from South Korea has his eyes set on winning a few more tournaments before permanently hanging up his keyboard and mouse. NesTea currently plays for Incredible Miracle.
Succeed
Swedish Protoss player Dennis "Succeed" Schmuck is still relatively
new to the progamer scene, but you're likely to hear his name a lot
more soon. In February, it was announced that Succeed would join ROOT Gaming in Peru to live with Paulo "CatZ" Vizcarra and pursue
professional StarCraft II.
State
Having been trained both at an American gaming house and the StarTale house in Korea, Ryan "State" Visbeck has plenty of diverse StarCraft experience. In addition, the Protoss player, currently teamless, is also working as an eSports columnist for the video game website GameFront.
SeleCT
Ryoo "SeleCT" Kyung Hyun is a former two time World Cyber Games Champion in the game Dawn of War. The South Korea native retired from StarCraft II last October but returned in May after a stint playing Dota 2. He currently plays Terran and is sponsored by Ownaj. He went 0-3 in match play at Training Grounds in Los Angeles but believes he could be a finalist for Round 2 in Orlando.
Snute
Jens "Snute" Aasgaard marches to the beat of a different drummer. The Norwegian, who plays Zerg for Team Liquid, has been known to pull an all-nighter creating music just as he does practicing StarCraft. Snute is currently ranked 31st in the WCS Global Rankings.
TLO
Dario "TLO" Wünsch has considered himself a bit of an underdog in recent competitive StarCraft II play, but that all changed when he placed third at the HomeStory Cup earlier this summer. Now the popular member of Team Liquid is on a hot streak. Can he keep it up at Training Grounds Orlando?
