Before we get into the new stuff you can expect, let’s take a look at some of the improvements the devs have dropped: Classic Mode will see a few edits which include firearm balancing, while a core feature change has improved the Bluetooth headset latency on some Android models. There’s been an effect upgrade specifically to add support for streamers and offer a better UI/fabric effects download. Popularity, Synergy and Download Features have all been tweaked. There’s also the addition of an Esports Centre, making it easier for you to access your favourite content (including links to your favourite streamers when they go live).

Now for the fun stuff!
From 9 March you can celebrate the 2nd anniversary of PUBG Mobile (yup, it’s already 2 years old!) with a host of Royale Pass reward upgrades. Some of the Anniversary theme items will be back in the shop and, if you’ve registered for season 10 but not purchased a Royale Pass before, you’ll get a host of benefits when you buy. There’s also the addition of the Brothers in Arms Function which is a great way to get your friends on the PUBG Mobile plane. Players register as either Rookies or Veterans and are able to play together. The perks? Veterans get rewards while Rookies GET GUD.
Keeping with those good birthday vibes, from 12 March the Anniversary celebration event will kick off in game. There’s a stack of rewards up for grabs as well as a new mini-game achievement and Anniversary login exclusive achievement.
The mobile game also now has a Death Replay, allowing you to see how you went down. The option to watch from your attacker’s perspective is a great way to improve your game play and see where your weak points are. Colourblind Mode is another new addition, allowing you to tweak your in-game set up a bit more and includes more colour options for in-game indicators. There’s also the DBS shotgun, which is the new AirDrops weapon. It’s set up with a Holographic Sight, Red Dot Sight, 2x-6x Scope and holds 14 rounds of 12 Gauge ammo that can fire 2 shots each rack.
Bring on the Cotton Candy
Remember how you’d spend a day at either Gold Reef City or Ratanga Junction (both popular South African amusement parks) binging on Candy Floss and getting on all the rides? Well, now Erangel can let you relive those moments, sort of. The addition of the Amusement Park Mode on the map is a fun one. 3 old school amusement parks pop up randomly. The parks will have arcade machines you can play on (you’ll need tokens). There’s also Bungee Machines in the parks, so you can launch yourself randomly into the air and glide again. Fun.
Coming Soon
There’s a lot on offer with the new update but PUBG Mobile has teased to even more to come with a new Arctic Mode coming soon to Vikendi.
The update has rolled out and you can expect the Android update to take up 1.69GB of storage while iOS devices will need 1.95GB. If you update before 6 March you’ll get 50 Silver, 2888 BP and a 3 Day Anniversary Pan Skin.
